Partnership Story
In September 2026, SciFables partnered with RISA (Refugee Independent Schools Association of Malawi) to bring story-based STEM learning to students in the Dzaleka refugee community and surrounding host communities in Malawi.
Through RISA’s network of 61 member schools reaching approximately 27,000 students, SciFables is helping make science more approachable and engaging through illustrated stories, quizzes, and simple hands-on learning experiences.
On September 25, 2026, SciFables conducted a virtual training session with RISA teachers from different schools. Teachers were introduced to a simple classroom model: read one SciFables story each week, discuss the science concept, complete the accompanying quiz, and add a simple hands-on experiment when appropriate. Teachers are also using an impact metrics sheet to track student participation, understanding, curiosity, and feedback.
This partnership supports SciFables’ mission to lower barriers to STEM education and spark curiosity in young learners—helping students become future thinkers, problem-solvers, and innovators.
